Key Features

Here are some of the key features included in the standard version of White Fox. We also work closely with each of our clients to identify any modifications that need to made or additional requests to meet their needs that can be accomplished through custom programming.

Easy-to-Use Interface

We have designed White Fox with an intuitive, easy-to-use interface. As soon as they log in, students will be able to view their assigned courses and quickly begin any courses they still need to take. Students may also access reports of their progress, browse through general library resources, view news and more!

Administrators will find a host of management tools at their fingertips. Unlike some LMS systems, we have designed White Fox specifically to work within a business environment with the structure and management tools that we know are essential to our corporate clients.

Adding Courses

White Fox supports more than just online training courses. When adding a new course, administrators can choose between several course types including external, instructor-led, online and SCORM. After entering the basic information about a course, an administrator is prompted to add elements to the course. These elements include the documents, exams, presentations, SCORM packages, external links, etc. that make up the course. A single course usually contains several elements.

A particular element may also be used in several different courses. A SCORM module about leadership may be included in a course designed for Store Managers as well as in a course for District Managers. When adding elements to a course an administrator will be able to choose an existing element in addition to creating new ones.

Learning Plan System

We have developed a unique Learning Plan system to automatically assign courses to users based on the "group" they belong to. In a corporate setting, each group would contain users with the same or similar job function. For example, if an administrator creates a group for "Full-time Sales Associates," that administrator could then create a new Learning Plan, select the courses that members of this group would be required to take and assign the Learning Plan to that group. Each user in this group would automatically be assigned all the required courses.

Any time a new course is added that members of a particular group must take, all an administrator has to do is add the new course to the appropriate Learning Plan and each user in the group will automatically be assigned that course. Also, when a new user is enrolled in the LMS and placed in a group, they will be assigned all the courses in the Learning Plan attached to that group. This Learning Plan model ensures that every user in a group will be given the coursework to meet the expectations of that job function.

In addition to the required Learning Plan, users may also elect to add additional available courses to a personal Learning Plan.

Reporting

Reporting is one of the most important functions of an LMS. With this in mind, we have created a flexible reporting system that includes standard reports plus a report creator that allows administrators to create customized reports. Multiple security roles may also be established to limit what information may be accessed by users.

Individual learners can view a "learning report" which shows the courses they have taken, are currently enrolled in or are assigned to take and the current status and grade for each course.

User Import Options

There are several ways new users can be added to the LMS system. For corporations, the typical method for maintaining an up-to-date user list is to establish a system where current data is exported daily from the existing employee database and imported into the LMS via an automated nightly process. The LMS will compare the data with the existing LMS users and add, modify or deactivate users accordingly.

Users may also be allowed to register themselves directly, or added manually by an administrator. In some cases, users may be allowed to register as an "external" user. These users can be a part of the LMS but may not have access to every course or feature and may be required to pay for any courses they take.
